The ocassional source of income

Here the ocassional source of income i'm talking about is betting. Especially to the chinese, betting has become a part of their routine. Every mondays, wednesdays, saturdays and sundays, huge crowd will form at every Singapore Pools outlet where bets for 4D are placed. Even though the odds for striking 4D is generally 1/10000, many people are still willing to put in a "bet of hope".

More recently, punters are betting on World Cup matches. Again, every match day (which is almost everyday!) scores of punters will be looking to score with their bet. They gather at Singapore Pools' outlets and will analyse the odds displayed on the 3 lcd screens hoping for a JP (JP= Jackpot means win the bet, if lose the bet punters will term it Claypot).

Betting is one of preferred past-times of Singaporean (perhaps when they strike 4D ot Toto), giving them an ocassion windfall. However, everyone out there please bet with what you can afford to lose. DO NOT let betting become an obsession.

MLM Part 2

What I like about MLM companies so far is the training that they are providing. Recently, I attended a 5 weeks training from a MLM company. They touch on subject like confidence, image management, self-discipline and motivtion. I feel that all these are very important soft-skills that one should definitely have. Therefore, please do not dismiss MLM companies the moment you heard of it. Explore what they can offer you.

With that being said, I do not agree with all the stuffs that MLM companies teach.........

Updates on HYIP - 28 June 2006

Werner Fund has paid me for yesterday and Mango has also paid me on time. My investment in One Day Gold has matured and I have requested withdrawal. It is still in pending status, so will keep my fingers cross on this :x

I reinvested into Mango HYIP. I was considering between Mango and APG. However, I think that Manga has been the more stable HYIP of the two.

I am still trying to recover back my principle investment after Dynamic Profits closed down, taking my money with it. Now i'm have a concrete plan to recover back my principle sum and I targeted that it will be achieved next week.

Updates on my HYIP Investments

I received the payout from MicroJob after about 4 hours after my request. There are no problems at all. However, I'm thinking of shifting my investment elsewhere with higher yields.

Mango and Werner HYIP have paid me on time. However, Werner website was down for a few hours yesterday but has since been online again. Now i'm waiting for the 2nd payment from them. APG Investment has also paid me on time.

I reinvested my money into Mango HYIP and One Day Gold. I made 2 spends on Mango HYIP and a test spend in One Day Gold.

Another Investment: Mango HYIP

My opinion is that auto-surf programmes are more reliable than HYIPs, However, I just signed up for another HYIP lolx. This time round the programme is called Mango HYIP. There are multiple plans which mature after 1 day, 2 days or 3 days. I chose the 1 day plan which pays me 120% of my investment. Let's see if it pays.

Will update on Mango HYIP and Werner Management Fund tomorrow =)

Waiting pay-out form MicroJob

While surfing on talkgold forum, realised that some people have problems with MicroJob. Hence, I went in and requested to withdraw my money. Now it is still pending. Hope it dun turn out like Dynamic Profit.

Keeping my fingers crossed. x

Updates on my Internet Investments

After I got the payout from Profit-Swinger, I think its time that I try out other programmes. I went to talkgold and money maker forums to source out the latest programmes. After a few hours of deliberation, I decided to park my money into werner fund Management.

Minimum investment for this programme is US$10. It will pay 10% every calendar day and it last for 20 days. The thing I like about this programme is that it pays directly into the e-Gold account you invested from. Furthermore, the website DDoS protection which is a very costly protection, hence, less likely to be a scam.

I am putting US$10 to see how the programme is. Wish me luck=)

Paid by Profit Swinger

I have just received my first pay-out from Profit-Swinger. This HYIP was introduced to me by my colleague. He also put in some investments and I believe he should have received his pay-out as well. However, he wrote on his blog that "payout vs total deposit on this programme now stands on 82.9%", so it seems that this programme is perhaps on the verge of closing. I will be looking out for other programmes to invest in.

Auto-Surf & HYIP

There are a few types of internet-based investments. The most common types are auto-surf and HYIP programme.

Auto-Surf programmes work with you having to surf a certain number of sites per day. After you invest a certain amount (minimun investment usually range between US$1 to US$10), you need to login religiously to surf then the programme will give your investments returns of between 3% to 5% daily.

HYIP programmes are basically much simpler. You just need to invest your money into the programme and it will pay a certain percentage of your investment daily. However, it seems to me that more HYIP are scams as compared to the auto-surf programmes.

Invest wisely, do not invest more than you can afford to lose!!

Internet-based Investments

I was introduced to Auto-Surf and HYIP (High Yield Investment Programme) by my colleague. In fact he did an excellent blog putting strategies and his experiences in different programmes. You can see his blog here. According to my colleague, all auto-surf and HYIP are ponzi schemes and they will close down sooner or later. Hence, he devised 2 strategies to go about it. One, diversify your investment so that if one programme fails, you still have others to fall back on. Secondly, his golden rule, only invest what you can afford to lose, period.

For me, I see this as an interesting investment. Therefore, I fork out some money to invest in these programmes. Let me give a breif explanation on how to go about it. Firstly, you need to have an e-Gold account. After that you can proceed to purchase your gold. Gold is used because its a stable backing with less fluctuation compared with currencies. A good place to exchange e-Gold will be Snape Gold. I have used them and the transaction is quick and easy. After you got your gold, you are set to invest.

Betting on World Cup 2006

The 2006 World Cup in Germany has been underway for more than 3 weeks now. This once every 4 years event not only attracts football supporters from all over the world, it also gathers the bookies and punters from all walks of life. Punters will looking for some extra cash, while bookies are looking to cash in on the punters. I believe that billion of dollars are on the line for every match of the World Cup. Punters will come together on match days and look for tips on winning. One of my colleague actually equates this to the stock and futures market. Punters being the small players while the bookies are those with financial capabilities to influence the market. Hence, we come to this question, are the football matches rigged?? Frankly, nobody but those in those players know.

My colleague also introduced me to the concept of "Sports Arbitrage Trading". Arbitrage Trading is actually one of the tactics used in the stock and futures market. Apply this concept to betting, it simply means an incident where you win when you bet on different teams due to the difference in its odds.

Bookmakers may not have all the pertinent information, especially if the sport or participants are unfamiliar to them, or the event takes place overseas
The odds may be based upon the anticipated number of bets rather than the likely outcome. E.g. When England is involved in a soccer match, the majority of bets placed with UK bookmakers will support England. Bookmakers like to balance their books so they may offer the opposing team at inflated odds.
Dealing with a massive global market and so in many events, mistakes or miscalculations can be made by the bookmakers in their haste. Arbitrage traders only need two of the bookmakers to have a difference of opinion on an event to create an arbitrage opportunity

Now you can see why Sport's Arbitrage Trading is such an phenomenal opportunity.

All in all, an advice for all punters. Please bet with care, do not bet with what you cannot afford to lose, because when that happens greed and fear will cloud your judgement.

Happy betting to all and g6 to all punters =)

MLM: Scam or A New Business Model (Part 1)

Right here in Singapore, mention the name MLM (Multi-Level Marketing), you will most probably be drowned by cynical comments about it before you continue to talk about it. Just a brief history on MLM, some years back MLM was in fact illegal in Singapore. The law was subsequently amended and MLM became legal. There is an industry watchdog named the Direct Selling Association of Singapore (DSAS) to keep tabs on these MLM companies.

Basically, MLM companies run on the 'upline-downline' system. More in-depth research shows that there are types of 'business models' that companies choose. Let me show you 2 of the models used by MLM companies.

Firstly there is one called the "Uni-Level System". This model run on the basis that you can have an infinite number of downlines under you. There is another one called the "Binary System". For this model, you can only have 2 downlines directly under you. If you have a third downline, you will have to place it under one of the downlines that is directly under you.

Sounds complicated??
More to come in Part 2 =)
